Dr. Kalpana K. Jatla is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She attended the University of North Carolina (B.S.) and Wake Forest University School of Medicine (M.D) before finishing her ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and her Glaucoma fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Jatla has a keen interest in glaucoma. Her formal glaucoma training includes filtering (trabeculectomy) , shunt (Ahmed), Istent, and other corrective procedures. She enjoys seeing adults as well as children. She treats dry eyes, evaluates for diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. She performs standard cataract surgery as well as laser assisted cataract surgery. She offers comprehensive eye exams for children focusing on visual development, treatment of amblyopia and other common eye disorders for children.

After being in private practice in New Jersey, Dr. Jatla is proud of starting Clarity Eye Center in Round Rock, Texas in 2008 and the Georgetown location in 2012. She has authored numerous scientific and clinical articles, enjoys traveling and outdoor activities, and is married to pediatrician Dr. Murali Jatla and is a mother of four wonderful children.

Our practice accepts new patients and many insurance plans including Scott & White, Medicare and Medicaid.

 

Dr. Ami Shah Vira is a board certified eye physician and surgeon. She specializes in Oculoplastics, Orbital Disease, and Neuro-Ophthalmology.  Dr. Vira was born and raised in Arizona. She graduated with honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics.  She was also part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics playing on the Women’s Soccer Team for her college. She then received her Doctorate of Medicine from The Chicago Medical School at the Rosalind Franklin University.

Dr. Vira completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona where she served as chief resident and also earned the Academic Excellence award for her program. She volunteered in numerous programs including Sight Savers and the Lions Club.

After residency, she completed a 2-year dual fellowship in Oculoplastics, Orbital Disease, and Neuro-Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University. Throughout residency and fellowship, she has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings.

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Vira enjoys spending time with her husband (an Emergency Medicine Physician), new baby boy (Aman), and dog (Simba), as well as playing soccer, tennis, and the piano.

Dr. Justin Mays is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Mays spends most of his time conducting primary care examinations and has a special interest in treating glaucoma, pediatrics, dry eye disease and complex contact lens cases.

Dr. Mays graduated from The Ohio State University where he studied finance in undergraduate college and then went on to finish his Doctorate in Optometry. During his time there he was president of the Sports Vision Club working with high school and college athletes to enhance visual processing and reflex time. He was an active member in the Ohio Optometry Association and American Optometric Association. He is a current member of the Texas Optometric Association.

In his free time, Dr. Mays enjoys sporting events and exploring the outdoors. A few of his hobbies are golf, volleyball and fishing. His canine companion Jameis loves to tag along whenever possible.

Dr. Ashley Brundrett specializes in Corneal, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery. Born and raised in Texas, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, TX, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a junior student.

She then completed her Internship in General Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina and her Ophthalmology Residency at the Storm Eye Institute, in Charleston, South Carolina. After residency, she completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. Her specialty includes laser vision correction, treatments and procedures for corneal disease, dry eye, and cataracts, as well as evaluation for diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Ashley Brundrett has presented at several national meetings and has published ophthalmic clinical research. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. She also has volunteered in medical outreaches through the Moran Eye Center and plans to continue participating in international and local outreach to provide charitable eye care services to the medically underserved. Dr. Ashley Brundrett enjoys spending time with her husband, as well as practicing yoga, reading, and traveling.
