Dr. Divya Pillai

Dr. Divya Pillai is a board certified therapeutic optometrist. She was born and raised outside the Twin Cities in Minnesota. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL, where she also received clinical honors and Dean’s List. She served as a board member on the Neuro-Optometric rehabilitation association and Student of Illinois optometric association for part of her time during school. In addition, she also was involved in limbal stem cell research throughout her undergraduate career and optometry school.

After receiving her doctorate, she completed an ocular disease/primary care residency at the VA Boston Healthcare System in Brockton, MA where her interest grew in treating and managing many ocular conditions. Her interests include comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, dry eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. During her time in residency, she also expanded her clinical knowledge and worked at Target Optical in the greater Boston area.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Texas Optometric Association (TOA). She is currently working towards her fellowship (FAAO) and has presented case reports/research at national conferences. She is passionate about providing thorough eye care and education to all her patients and loved ones. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. She is thrilled to be moving to the Austin area!
