CONTACT LENS EXAM

Contact lenses are the perfect solution for people with vision problems who do not wish to have surgery and do not like the feel and visual appearance of eyeglasses. There are many contact lenses available today to fit your special needs as well as special eye problems. Clarity Eye Center offers contact lens evaluations for spherical, bifocal, monovision, toric and keratoconus. Your doctor will recommend which contact lenses are best suitable for you based on a complete vision examination and a review of your visual needs at work and at play.

TIPS TO KEEPING YOUR EYES HEALTHY

1. Get a dilated eye exam at least once a year and share the results with your primary care doctor.

• In this exam, you will get eye drops to make your pupils larger. Pupils are the black circles in the middle of your eyes. The drops are painless and help your eye doctor see inside your eyes to look for signs of health problems.
• A dilated eye exam can help your eye doctor find and treat problems to keep you from losing your vision from diabetes.
• Our eye doctor may take pictures of your eyes with a tool called retinal photography. This helps to see the retina, which is at the back part of your eyes.
• Be sure to keep your next eye doctor appointment!

2. Visit your eye doctor right away if you:
• ƒ See little black lines or spots that don’t go away.
• ƒ See any red spots.
• ƒ See red fog.
• ƒ Have a sudden change in how clearly you see.
• ƒ Take longer than usual to adjust to darkness.

Protect Your Eyes from UV Light

Pinguecula and Pterygium are common, non-cancerous growths on the cornea (clear part of the eye) and conjunctiva (white of the eye) likely caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. These growths are usually not serious and can be safely removed by our experienced eye surgeons here at Clarity Eye Center. Reasons for seeking surgical management may be unrelenting symptoms of foreign body sensation/ eye irritation, growth into the visual axis, or induced irregular astigmatism limiting best correction visual potential.

Dr. Nguyen Performs an Expert SLT

Dr. Tran Nguyen is performing a Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, SLT is a simple, yet highly effective laser procedure that reduces the intraocular pressure associated with glaucoma. It is performed in your ophthalmologist’s office and typically takes no more than five minutes. Are you looking to relieve eye pressure, pain, reduce the need for drops? Blepharoplasty & Lid Lift

In general, good candidates for eyelid surgery include:

• Healthy individuals who do not have a life threatening illness or medical conditions that can impair healing
• Non-smokers
• Individuals with a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for eyelid surgery
• Individuals without serious eye conditions

Remember that the eyelids are part of the face. The appearance of a drooping upper lid may also be due to relaxation of the forehead skin and eyebrow.
